Nothing is installed on the board. It loads idlescreen as its signage page, the way it would load any web address, so the setup is one address — https://idlescreen.app — and the handful of configurations that let the device show it. Which ones depends on what is on your wall. (A board already pointed at unsleep.app, app.quadrille.io or roomboard.app keeps working: same dashboard, earlier names, and none of them is going anywhere.)

Optional. One macro sets every signage-friendly configuration in one go and adds a Dashboard button to the Control Panel. Non-touch Room series devices take the configuration in the address instead.

The board is a touchscreen: two buttons sit in the bottom-right corner, and the cards themselves are the third control. Rather set it up from your computer? idlescreen.app/setup lets you pick your widgets and hands you a code — on the board, tap the gear, choose Setup code, type it in, and Save. Codes last an hour.
Rearrange the board itself: drag cards to move them, resize them, remove one, or add a new widget from the picker. The board shows each card’s minimum size while you work, so nothing ends up too small to read. Tap Done when you’re finished.
Everything else: your display mode and schedule, screensaver sources, which stations, teams, tickers, and news outlets you follow, °F or °C, 12- or 24-hour time, and your display name.
A card that holds more than it shows opens full screen. Weather gives you the next 24 hours, Markets every ticker you follow, Subway the full alert text. A headline opens with a summary and a QR code so you can finish reading on your phone, and any picture fills the screen.
