Back up your board
Your dashboard’s configuration lives on the board. A factory reset, a storage wipe, or a board swap loses it unless the configuration has been saved first.
Take the backup
Section titled “Take the backup”- On the board: gear → Setup code → Show QR of current config.
- Scan the QR with your phone. It opens a page holding the entire configuration — every widget, setting and arrangement.
- Keep that page: bookmark it, or send the link to yourself.
Do this before the reset, not after — there is nothing to recover from a wiped board.
Restore from the backup
Section titled “Restore from the backup”Open the saved page, tap Get my setup code, and enter the six characters on the board (welcome screen → I have a setup code). The dashboard is restored in full.
Alternative: carry the configuration in the board’s address
Section titled “Alternative: carry the configuration in the board’s address”The same saved page has a second button, Get signage URL. It produces a signage address with the whole configuration embedded in it. If whoever administers the board sets that as the signage address, the board rebuilds its dashboard by itself after a wipe — the address is the backup, applied automatically.
This is how non-touch devices are configured, and it suits any board that should recover without attention.
