How widgets work

Everything on the dashboard is a widget you chose. There are thirty-five, sorted into the eight groups in the sidebar — the same groups you’ll see in the editor’s tray and in Settings.

A few things are true of every widget, so the per-widget pages don’t repeat them:

Add and remove any card with the pencil editor. Only the clock and greeting across the top are always there.

Most cards show more content as you give them room. The editor tells you how many rows fit at any size, and a +N in a card’s corner means there’s more than fits — tap to see it all.

Nearly every card opens full screen on a tap — the whole board, the full forecast, every story. The per-widget pages describe what’s behind the tap where it’s interesting.

A card that can’t refresh dims slightly and shows “as of …” with the time of its last good data, then recovers when its source does. A failed feed never leaves an empty card.

A few widgets require a choice before they can show data — a station, a destination, a stream link. Those cards prompt until configured, and their pages say so.
